TRAVERSE CITY — The young and the young-at-heart are invited to a Fairy Garden Fun seminar Saturday, April 19, at Garden Goods, 2510 N. U.S. 31 South.

‘Linda Gathering’

Wings of Wonder

KINGSLEY — Wings of Wonder will give a presentation on birds of prey at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at The Rock, 115 E. Blair St. Admission is free.

Small Plates

LEELANAU PENINSULA — The Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail will offer Small Plates on Friday, April 25.

Seatings will be at 6, 7 or 8 p.m. and participants may reserve one, two or three seatings. Each seating includes a full glass of wine with a substantial tapas dish at one of six wineries. Participating wineries include Black Star Farms, Ciccone Vineyards, 45 North Vineyard & Winery, Laurentide Winery, and Verterra Winery.

Talk About Art

GLEN ARBOR — Scott Craig, writer, documentary filmmaker and creator of the radio series “The Story Next Door,” is the next speaker in the Talk About Art series at the Glen Arbor Art Association, 3061 S. Lake St.

Craig will talk about story making, storytelling and the book and stage production that have arisen from his Interlochen Public Radio program at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24. The program is free and open to the public. For details, call 334-6112 or visit

Chocolate fest

TRAVERSE CITY — The 2014 Chocolate Festival on Sunday, April 27, will benefit the Northwest Food Coalition.

Festival hours are 1-3:30 p.m. at the City Opera House, 106 E. Front St. It features tastings and samples from the region’s finest chocolatiers, chefs and caterers, demonstrations and mini-lectures, and live music. There also will be a silent auction of chocolate sculptures, door prizes, chocolate-inspired art, books and shopping and an on-site food drive.

Bob James Quartet

TRAVERSE CITY — The Dennos Museum Center will welcome Grammy Award-winning jazz pianist Bob James and the Bob James Quartet on Saturday, May 3.

The performance starts at 8 p.m. in Milliken Auditorium, 1410 College Dr. It is being held in conjunction with the opening of a major exhibition by South Korean artist Seungmo Park, who will have his first U.S. solo exhibition at the Dennos Museum Center from Sunday, May 4, through Sunday, Sept. 7.
