Farmers Market

HONOR — The Honor Farmers and Flea Market opens Tuesday, June 4, for its fifth season. Market hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Maley Park, across from the shopping plaza. Free coffee is available at the pavilion.

Alzheimer’s benefit

TRAVERSE CITY — The Village at Bay Ridge invites the community to a vintage fashion show and afternoon tea to raise money for the local Alzheimer’s Association.

The event starts at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, at the Village at Bay Ridge’s East Building, 3850 Scenic Ridge. The fashion show will feature “Clothes My Grandmother Wore.” Most fashions will be from the early 1900s, with some outfits from the 1940s through ‘70s.

A $5 minimum donation is requested. For details, call 995-9385.

Trio performs

TRAVERSE CITY — The Weather, an acoustic electric rock trio, will perform Friday, June 7, in the Outre Lounge at InsideOut Gallery, 229 Garland St.

The trio will perform from 8 to 11 p.m., while Short’s Brewing Co. also will join forces with the mixologists from insideOut to present a night of beer cocktails from 7 to 11 p.m. Short’s also will have six different beers on tap and six bottle selections. For details, call 929-3254.

Safeguarding kids

TRAVERSE CITY — A “Safeguarding God’s Children” certification workshop in the prevention of sexual misconduct against children will be offered at Grace Episcopal Church, 341 Washington St.

The workshop will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 10. It is appropriate for all parents and caregivers of children and youth. Participants are encouraged to bring a brown bag dinner.
