Bake sale

KALEVA — Kaleva Meats will host a Relay for Life Bake Sale, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 28, sponsored by Kaleva Crusaders and Friends Relay for Life Team. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

Country dance

SUMMIT CITY — A country dance will be held from 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday, June 28 at the Summit City Grange Hall. Two step, waltz and square dancing with live music begins at 7 p.m., following a hot dog supper.

Donations will be accepted.

‘Junque’ sale

BENZONIA — Benzonia Congregational Church will host a “Classic Junque Sale” from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 28. The church is located at 901 Barber St. All proceeds go to Women’s Fellowship charitable projects.

Log Cabin Day

OLD MISSION — Log Cabin Day will be celebrated with an open house at the Hessler log cabin from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 29 at Lighthouse Park. Music, historic crafts and demonstrations will be featured, along with tours of the adjacent Mission Point Lighthouse.

The Old Mission Peninsula United Methodist Church, Lighthouse Friends in cooperation with the Old Mission Men’s Breakfast Club will offer a pancake brunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pancakes, sausage and eggs will be served for a free will offering and proceeds will be used for preservation and restoration of the Mission Point Lighthouse.

In Old Mission, the historic Dougherty Mission House, ice house, and restored outhouse will be available for viewing from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be hosted by the Peter Dougherty Society and there is no charge.

Summer music fest

CEDAR — The 2014 Leelanau Summer Music Festival kicks off the season with Love and Romance in Summer - The Wu-Tang Duo at 8 p.m., Saturday at the Sala Koncertowa Concert Hall in Holy Rosary School, 2 1/2 miles north of Cedar.
