Garden club to paint

ACME — Sweetwater Evening Garden Club will meet at 6:30 p.m., on Tuesday, June 17, at Bayside Park in Acme. Artist Carole Donaldson will lead an informal plein air watercolor painting session.

Benzie open house

BEULAH — The Benzie Conservation District will hold an open house and birthday party from 4 to 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday, June 18, to celebrate its 70 years of serving to enhance and preserve the natural resources of Benzie County.

Community members are invited enjoy live music by the Accidentals and snacks by Still Grinning Kitchens. District staff and board members will be available to answer questions and share the latest updates on the District’s activities.

The event will be a zero waste event and is free. Donations welcome.

Summer reading

INTERLOCHEN — Interlochen Public Library’s Summer Reading Club begins at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 18 and will be held each Wednesday through Aug. 6.

Stop by the library to register and pick up a schedule of events. The Children’s Summer Reading Club is sponsored by the Friends of Interlochen Public Library.


‘Sparks’ photo

BENZONIA — Benzie Area Christian Neighbors (BACN) are calling all friends and Neighbors to bring a smile and join the staff, board and volunteers of BACN, from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, June 19, on the front lawn at 2804 Benzie Hwy, to pose for the annual “sparks” photo.

This officially kicks off the 2014 BACN Summer Match Campaign. Visitors may have a hot dog, tour both wings of the building and pose for a big group photo on the agency’s front lawn.
