LAKE ANN — The Benzie Conservation District and the Master Gardener Association of Northwest Michigan will offer a tour of demonstration sites for natural shoreline landscapes.
The tour starts at 3 p.m. Friday, July 26, at the Almira Township Public Beach and includes shoreline projects at Lake Ann Platte Lake and Watervale Resort. Participants will learn how to use natural shorelines to beautify landscapes, ensure clean waters, deter geese, prevent erosion and improve fish and wildlife habitat.

TRAVERSE CITY — Grand Traverse House of Prayer will host the fourth annual “Rain” conference Friday and Saturday, July 26-27.
“Rain” is a free conference for people who wish to live radical lives of devotion to Jesus. It will meet at Traverse City Christian School on Emerson Road. Friday will feature worship and teaching from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday’s schedule includes worship and teaching from 10 a.m. to noon, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m., with healing rooms open from noon to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. The Children’s Equipping Track will take place and is free for children ages 3 to 12.

Christmas in July
CEDAR — Wool & Honey, 9031 S. Kasson, is celebrating Christmas in July.
The celebration kicks off with Santa’s Workshop from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 27. Visitors are invited to bring in whatever project they’re stuck on for help completing it in time for the holidays. For the remainder of the month there also will be new kits and projects to complete for holiday giving.

Peter W. Marty and Kevin Dudley will lecture on the theme “You Are a Letter of Christ.” Marty is senior pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa, and the author of more than 100 articles on leadership, preaching and parish renewal. Dudley is affiliated professor of African-American studies at Trinity Lutheran Seminary and the pastor of The Church at North Pointe in north Columbus, Ohio. He also is the author of Uncovering the Call to Ministry: Vocational Discernment and Authenticity.
