Sale donations

TRAVERSE CITY — AC Paw Dog and Cat Rescue is accepting donations today through Wednesday, June 17-19, for its annual garage sale.

Donations may be dropped off from noon to 7 p.m. at the garage in the alley behind 306 W. 10th St., near Union Street. Clothes must in a good condition and no large appliances or exercise equipment will be accepted. The sale will be held Thursday through Saturday, June 20-22, at 306 W. 10th St.

 

Open house

CADILLAC — Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank will host an open house Tuesday, June 18, at its Cadillac branch.

The open house will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the food bank, 101 Clay Dr. Anyone interested in learning about the problem of hunger in northern Michigan and the ongoing effort to solve it is welcome. For details, visit http://www.feedingamericawestmichigan.org/.

 

Grass River events

BELLAIRE — Events at Grass River Natural Area include a Solstice Cruise, a program on coyotes and “Art on Thursdays.”

The Solstice Cruise leaves at 6 or 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 21, from the natural area, 6500 Alden Highway.

The cost is $15 and advance registration is required. Parents should bring life jackets for their children.

Learn how coyotes adapt their behavior for survival in “Wiley Coyote at Grass River.” The program starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22 at Grass River. The fee is $5; advance registration is required.

Participants in “Art on Thursdays” at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27, at the natural area will create a walking stick. The class fee is $5 and registration is required.

Breakfast forum

LAKE CITY — Good Morning Lake City will meet Friday, June 21, at the Missaukee County EMS Building on First Street.

The 7 to 8 a.m. public forum will feature from 14 to 16 speakers. The $2 cost includes a light breakfast; free for first-time visitors. For details, call 920-9201 or email margojacobs@charter.net.
