TRAVERSE CITY — Artists Creating Together (ACT) will host a Halloween Costume Dance for teens and adults with disabilities on Halloween, Thursday, Oct. 31.
The dance will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center community room. The cost is $5 per person.

Boy Scout breakfast
TRAVERSE CITY — Boy Scout Troop 36 will host a pancake breakfast on Sunday, Nov. 3.
The meal will be served from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Central United Methodist Church, 222 Cass St. A free-will offering will be collected and proceeds will help fund Boy Scout events. The public, and boys and Cub Scouts interested in joining or learning more about the troop are welcome.
Health care series
TRAVERSE CITY — Christ United Methodist Church will offer a community education series on Health Care Reform.
The programs start at 5:30 p.m. at the church, 1249 Three Mile Road South. Topics are "Health Care Reform and You" on Sunday, Nov. 3, by Laverna Witkop; "Health Insurance Marketplace: The Essentials" on Sunday, Nov. 10, by Jennifer Coleman; and "Medicare Education Make Simple: Better Decisions with Medicare Insurance Options" on Sunday, Nov. 17, by Jennifer McDonnell.

Robot open house
TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse Area District Library Youth Services Department and the West Senior High School robotics team will host a Robot Open House on Monday, Nov. 4, at the library, 610 Woodmere Ave.
The interactive open house from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. will feature robots of all shapes and sizes, many built by local WSH students. There also will be select unmanned systems robots from Northwestern Michigan College and the National Guard bomb dismantling robot. The goal is to show how hobbies like building Legos can develop into ideas, college and careers.
Lifelong Learning Day
TRAVERSE CITY — Northwestern Michigan College will host a "Lifelong Learning Campus Day" on Friday, Nov. 8.
The event will be held from 9:45 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the University Center on Dendrinos Drive off Cass Road. Participants can select three sessions from more than 40 classes. The cost is $20. Participants may bring a lunch or order a box lunch for an additional $9.

T-paper Father Fred
TRAVERSE CITY — The Father Fred Foundation is giving the classic Halloween prank a twist by asking the community to "Toilet Paper Father Fred," because toilet paper and other toiletries are always needed.
Through the end of October, people can donate packaged rolls of toilet paper to the Foundation during its regular donation drop-off hours from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Foundation, 826 Hastings St.
Hall of Fame nominees
TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City Central High School is accepting nominations for its Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame recognizes former students and staff who have made exceptional contributions to society, achieved exceptional success, brought honor and prestige to Central High School and are outstanding role models for CHS students.
