KALKASKA — Kalkaska County Library volunteers will answer questions about a proposed new library at four meetings during April.
Library representatives will host open house events to share information about the plans for a new library facility from 10 a.m. to noon and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, April 3, 10, 17 and 24, at the library. For details, call 258-9411.
TRAVERSE CITY — Peninsula Community Library Director Vicki Shurly will open the library’s history collection for a free presentation Thursday, April 4, for the Old Mission Historical Society and the public.
“From the Archives” starts at 7 p.m. at the library, 2699 Island View Road. The library’s collection is currently being digitized and contains items as diverse as a hand-drawn survey map believed to be from 1839 and early township ledgers.
TRAVERSE CITY — The National Writers Series (NWS) is conducting an online silent auction for an “Exclusive Event Package” with international bestselling author Blaine Harden.
The package is valued at $130 and includes two tickets to Blaine Harden’s program, two copies of his bestseller “Escape from Camp 14,” and lunch for two at Amical with Harden and NWS co-founder Doug Stanton.
