'The Promise' staged

WILLIAMSBURG — New Hope Community Church will present "The Promise," a re-creation of the events surrounding the life of Jesus Christ.

The free theatrical presentation will start at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, March 28-29; and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 30, in the church's auditorium, 5100 Bethesda Ct. The program is not recommended for younger children and free child care will be available for infants through children 5 years old.

Habitat fundraiser

THOMPSONVILLE — A chili supper on Saturday, March 30, will benefit Habitat for Humanity Benzie County.

The meal will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Thompsonville First Congregational Church. Donations will be accepted.

Easter dinner help

TRAVERSE CITY — Donations of time, food and money are still being accepted for the 21st Community Easter Dinner.

The meal will be served on Easter Sunday, March 31, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the VFW, 3400 Veterans Dr. Meal delivery will start at 12:30 p.m. Help is needed with food preparation from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., meal delivery starting at 12:30 p.m., serving the public from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and clean up from 4 to 6 p.m.

Easter baskets, candy, bookmarks, pencils, cards with verses, baked goods, crafts, cards, plastic bags and brown grocery bags also are needed and may be dropped off at the VFW from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 30.

Donations in the form of checks made out to the Community Meals Program with a notation "Easter Dinner" may be mailed to P.O. Box 102, Traverse City, MI 49685. Bereavement group

GRAYLING — A bereavement support group will meet Mondays, April 1-May 13, at the Grayling Senior Center, 308 Lawndale.
