Eagle Scout honor

INTERLOCHEN — Benjamin Tabbert, 15, son of Amy and George Tabbert of Interlochen, has earned the Boy Scout rank of Eagle Scout. His Court of Honor ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Interlochen.

Tabbert is an Order of the Arrow member and has received the Arrow of Light award. He has served as assistant senior patrol leader for troop 20 and is a sophomore at Traverse City West Senior High.

His Eagle Scout service project included organizing a pet food and supply drive for AC Paws. He also built two insulated dog houses for the pet rescue organization.

OTP auditions

Traverse City — Auditions will start at 7 p.m. today and Tuesday, Feb. 11-12, for the Old Town Playhouse Studio Theatre production of Martin McDonagh's "The Pillowman."

Auditions will be held at the OTP Studio Theatre at the Depot, 620 Railroad Place. Auditioners will be asked to read from the script.

Spring Arbor event

Traverse City — Spring Arbor University-Traverse City will hold an open house Wednesday, Feb. 13, for individuals interested in learning about bachelor or master degrees in management at the university.

Family fun night

Traverse City — Greenspire School, 1026 Red Dr., will hold a Family Winter Sports Night from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, with sledding, snowshoeing, bonfire, cocoa and a chili cook-off. The event is free and open to the public; visit www.greenspireschool.org.

IDA orientation

Traverse City — Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency (NMCAA) is hold orientation Wednesday, Feb. 13, for the Individual Development Account (IDA) Program.

Orientation starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Traverse City office, 3963 Three Mile Road. The IDA program is a savings program for people with limited earned income who want to build financial assets.
