Public forums

Suttons Bay — Rich Robinson, executive director of the Michigan Campaign Finance Network, will speak at public forums on Wednesday, Feb. 6, in Suttons Bay and Traverse City

Forums will be held at noon at the Leelanau County Government Center, 8527 E. Government Center Dr.; and at 5:30 p.m. in Scholars Hall at Northwestern Michigan College, 1701 E. Front St. Both programs are free and open to the public.

Builder program

Traverse City — "LEEDS and Green Building" is the theme for the Wednesday, Feb. 6, Lunchbox Series at the Builders Exchange of NW MI, 1373 Barlow St.

Fairy Garden

Kalkaska — Klumpp Flower Shop will offer home gardeners the chance to create a miniature garden in hopes of luring a fairy into their homes.

Free workshops will be offered Saturdays, Feb. 9 or March 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the flower shop, 210 N. Cedar St. All ages are welcome.

Habitat fundraiser

Traverse City — Tickets are on sale for the "Hearts for Habitat" fundraiser to benefit Habitat for Humanity Grand Traverse Region.

The event will be hosted from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Hagerty Center, 715 E. Front St. Tickets are $40.
