MS support group

Traverse City — Renee Louvierre-Mitchell, an independent living specialist from the Disability Network/Northern Michigan, will be the guest speaker at the Multiple Sclerosis Support Group meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 14. Boardman meeting

Traverse City — An event will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. today, Nov. 14, for area residents who care about the area's natural environment and the Boardman River.

Knitters show

Traverse City — The Afghan Angels of the United Way Retired and Senior Volunteer Program invite the community to view their works of art at a reception from 1 to 3 p.m. today, Nov. 14, at 521 S. Union St. The Afghan Angels are a group of volunteers who knit or crochet lap blankets and afghans that are donated to shut in seniors through the Grand Traverse and Leelanau Commissions on Aging.

Life campus day

Traverse City — The Life Academy of Northwestern Michigan College will hold a Lifelong Learning Campus Day Friday, Nov. 16, from 9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the University Center on Dendrinos Road off Cass Road.

The event features 45 short presentations on a variety of topics. The cost is $20. Attendees may bring their lunch or order a box lunch for an additional $9.
