Stroke Club

TRAVERSE CITY — Munson occupational therapist Janet Wessels will be the guest speaker at today’s, Nov. 13, meeting of the Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club.

Ladies’ Night Out

TRAVERSE CITY — St. Vincent de Paul will host a “Ladies Night Out Help Our Community Prosper” event on Thursday, Nov. 14.

The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the store, 1207 Woodmere Ave. There will be food, wine, desserts, door prizes, shopping specials and a silent auction. A $5 donation is requested at the door. For details, call 947-8466.

New YARN group

TRAVERSE CITY — Knitters are invited to the next meeting of a new group titled YARN (Yarn Art Regional Network).

The group will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14. The focus of the new group is to provide learning experiences for knitters and produce projects that benefit the Traverse City community. For details, meeting location and directions, call Barb Melichar, 421-8155.

TRAVERSE CITY — Acupuncturist Jeff Campbell will discuss restless leg syndrome and share ways to improve the condition in a program from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14. The free presentation will be held at Shoreline Center for Healing, 402 S. Union St. For details or to reserve a seat, call 946-HEAL.

After jail or prison

HONOR — Men and women who have gone through the jail/prison experience and seek to make positive life changes are invited to participate in Fresh Start Jail/Prison After Care, a self-directed, but structured group that provides fellowship, emotional and moral support, personal accountability, mentoring and Bible-based teaching.

The program will meet on Fridays, starting this Friday, Nov. 15, at the Fresh Wind Christian Community Ministry Center, next to the Cherry Bowl Drive-in. A free meal will be served from 6-7 p.m. followed by the program from 7-8:30 p.m. For details, call the Fresh Wind office, 325-0344.
