n NEW TRAFFIC RULE. Double track will be used to fair grounds. For the convenience and safety of fair patrons, Chief of Police Carson has made a traffic ruling which will be effective during fair week, and which will be enforced by patrolmen. All vehicles going to the grounds, shall go up State Street and return on Front Street. If the vehicles make their start on Front Street for the grounds they should turn either at Park Street or Boardman Avenue. It is believed that by observing this rule and having the traffic running to and from the fair all moving in the same direction, transportation will be facilitated and the danger of accidents will be reduced.
n REGION FAIR GATES OPEN. Indications point to successful exhibition. Display space is all taken. Every line of region’s activity represented. Increase in Livestock and Agricultural Exhibits is one of the most favorable indications of success.
The fruit and vegetable display will be the largest that has ever been known, and visitors will realize as never before, what a paradise this Grand Traverse region is. The children’s department will have more exhibits than ever and the ladies are almost at the their wits’ end to know where to place all the things that the younger people have grown in their own gardens or made by their own hands.
The new cattle barn, which is the finest in the state will not hold all the stock. The display from the Michigan Agricultural college and that from the Traverse City State hospital are attracting the widest attention. These show what can be done in the line. And the farmers, many of them are already planning on increasing their stock for these. The sheep and hog pens are nearly filled.

The old men who are back and who are practically sure of positions are: McGarry, Straub, Shilson, Buegae, Bauer and Edgecomb. It is expected that Zimmerman will report for practice this week.
