Nurses meet

TRAVERSE CITY — The Registered Nurses Association in Michigan (RN-AIM) will meet Tuesday, April 9.

Tammy Tarsa, RN, BSN, administrator and owner of Integrity Home Health Care of Northern Michigan, will discuss “The Many Hats of Nursing” at the meeting from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in conference rooms A and B at Munson Community Health Center, 550 Munson Ave. One continuing education hour will be awarded to RNs attending the entire meeting. Pizza and salad will be available for $5 per person.

Student testing

TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City Area Public Schools will offer Academically Talented (AT) testing for current fifth-grade students both in and outside of the TCAPS district.

Testing will take place from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at the East Middle School cafeteria, 1776 Three Mile Road. Students should plan to arrive by 7:45 a.m. Advance registration is required. For details or to register, call East Middle School Counselor Mandy Samuelson, 933-7396.

Development day

TRAVERSE CITY — The Grand Traverse Stewardship Initiative will sponsor a day of professional development for teachers focusing on nature literacy and personal narrative.

Workshops will be held Tuesday, April 23, from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. at the Boardman River Nature Center, 1450 Cass Road. They are designed to connect teachers with content designed to tap the link between nature, children, health, happiness and literacy.

The workshops are free to GTSI teachers; $45 per workshop for other educators or administrators. Attendees may choose one or both workshops and registration materials for earning SB-CEUs will be available at each workshop.
