Traverse City — A celebration of art and family to honor Ernest Lichty begins with an opening reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at the Traverse Area District Library, 610 Woodmere Ave.
Lichty was well-known in the 1940s and '50s for his carvings and signs painted for the city. Many pieces on display are owned by family members. Other artists showing their work and also related to Lichty are Emily Lichty Woods, Leon Lichty and Carol Hueller.
