The Friendly Garden Club of Traverse City elected new leadership for 2014.

Jill Stiltner is president; Susan Smith, first vice president; and Susan Mrowczynski, second vice president. Vicki Slawnik and Letha Cairns will chair the 32nd annual Garden Walk, which will be held July 17. Linda Burkey and Jean Spagnuolo will continue to chair the Ways & Means Committee.

The club also approved grant requests totaling $7,000. Grant recipients are Habitat for Humanity-Grand Traverse, the Grand Traverse Area Veterans Coalition, Traverse Area District Library, the Botanic Garden of Northwest Michigan at the Historic Barns Park, the Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District Horticulture Department, and Clancy Park, Orchard Heights Neighborhood-Traverse City.
