Vasa Pasta Dinner

TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City Central and West Senior high schools' Nordic ski teams will host a Vasa Pasta pre-race dinner today, Feb. 7, at Timber Ridge Resort, 4050 Hammond Road East.

The meal will be served from 5-8 p.m. in the banquet facility adjacent to the Vasa Race packet pick-up in the main lodge. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and younger. This is an annual fundraiser for both Nordic ski teams.

Microbrew and Music fest

TRAVERSE CITY — The Winter Microbrew & Music Festival will be held Saturday, Feb. 8.

Activities take place from 4-10 p.m. at the Farmer's Market lots on Union Street at Grandview Parkway. Early Bird festivities start at 3 p.m. For tickets or details, visit www.microbrewandmusic.com. Tickets also are available at Oryana Natural Foods Market and both High Five Threads locations.

Organ recital

INTERLOCHEN — The organ studio of Thomas Bara will present the first Chapel Organ Recital of the 2013-14 academic year at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, in the Dendrinos Chapel and Recital Hall at Interlochen Center for the Arts. The recital is free and open to the public.

Ballet excerpts

TRAVERSE CITY — Dancers from the Northwest Michigan Ballet Theatre will present excerpts from "Deirdre: A Celtic Tale" on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Traverse Area District Library, 610 Woodmere Ave.

Portions of the medieval Irish folk legend choreographed by Thomas Morrell will be presented at 11 a.m. The full-length ballet will be staged at Milliken Auditorium, 1410 College Dr., at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, and at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15.

Tickets for the full ballet are $15 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens. They are available at www.mynorthtickets.com, by calling (800) 836-0717, or at the Milliken Auditorium box office prior to each performance.

Predator program

BELLAIRE — Grass River naturalists will give a program on Michigan predators that don't migrate or hibernate on Saturday, Feb. 8.
