Pom Clinic

TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Central High School Cheer and Dance teams will hold a Junior Pom Clinic for area elementary school girls.

The clinic will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Central High School, 1150 Milliken Dr. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. Participants will learn cheers, jumps and a short dance routine. They also are invited to perform with the high school teams during half-time at the Tuesday, Feb. 18, JV boys basketball game.

The $30 fee is payable at the clinic and includes a T-shirt. It may be paid by cash or check, payable to TCAPS. For details, email tcchscheer@gmail.com.

Free tax prep

TRAVERSE CITY — AARP free income tax preparation is available for low to middle income Grand Traverse County residents 60 and older.

Simple federal and State of Michigan 2013 income tax returns can be prepared and e-filed by appointment at the Grand Traverse Commission on Aging office, 520 W. Front St. For details or a tax appointment, call the Commission on Aging, 922-4688.
