Book club luncheon

TRAVERSE CITY — Paid reservations are due Thursday, Feb. 6, for the next luncheon meeting of the Village at Bay Ridge Book Club.

The club will meet at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, in the West Building dining room at the Village at Bay Ridge, 3950 Scenic Ridge. Local author Cari Noga will discuss her book “Sparrow Migrations.” The public is welcome.

Dems meet

TRAVERSE CITY — All Democrats are invited to the Thursday, Feb. 6, meeting of the Grand Traverse County Democratic Executive Board.

SoulCollage workshops

SUTTONS BAY — The Friendship Community Center will offer a series of SoulCollage workshops.

The intuitive collage process for self-discovery and community will be taught by trained SoulCollage facilitators Gail Ingraham of Suttons Bay and Lisa Harold of Leland. Workshops meet from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Friendship Center. The next workshop is Thursday, Feb. 6. The theme is “Eat, Pray, Love.”

Harriet Tubman play

TRAVERSE CITY — Leslie McCurdy will portray famous Underground Railroad conductor Harriet Tubman in the one-woman play “The Spirit of Harriet Tubman.”

The production starts at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, in Milliken Auditorium at the Dennos Museum, Center, 1410 College Dr. Ticket-holders have free admission to the museum galleries prior to the performance.

WSH stages one-act

TRAVERSE CITY — Drama students at West Senior High School will stage a one-act children’s play on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7-8.
