Winter event fundraiser
ELBERTA — The Mayfair Tavern will hold a fundraiser for Frankfort-Elberta Area Chamber of Commerce’s “Shiver by the River” event.
The fundraiser starts at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at the tavern, 515 Frankfort Ave. A $10 entrance fee covers admission to a buffet and a silent auction. All proceeds benefit Shiver by the River.
Silent auction items must be at the Chamber office, 517 Main St., Frankfort, before Tuesday, Feb. 4. For details or to donate an item, call Joanne Bartley, 352-7251.
OM history group presents program
TRAVERSE CITY — Monica and Bill Hoffman will share their history with the Old Mission Peninsula Historical Society in a program titled “Five Generations of Farming on Old Mission Peninsula.”

Art from wine country
GLEN ARBOR — The Glen Arbor Art Association (GAAA), the Homestead Resort and the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail will team up for “Art from Michigan’s Wine Country.”
The event from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, kicks off Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail’s “Taste the Passion” weekend. It will be held at The Homestead’s Mountain Flowers Lodge and features wine from Leelanau wineries, an exhibit and sale of original art by local artists and a small plates menu designed by Chef Piombo.
Advance tickets are $20 when reserved by Wednesday, Feb. 5; $25 at the door. Tickets include one glass of wine, food stations and coffee. Additional wine is $4 a glass or three glasses for $10. For advance reservations with will-call ticket pick-up at the event, call 334-5100. A portion of each ticket and art purchase supports GAAA class scholarships, after-school art and a summer art program for migrant children.
