Rose Hutchinson White, retired U.S. Air Force chief master sergeant, will share her experiences at 12:30 p.m. Monday, March 10, in the West Building dining room, 3950 Scenic Ridge. A light lunch will be served. The public is welcome.

Test drive challenge
TRAVERSE CITY — Cherry Knoll Elementary School will hold a “Drive for the Kids” event during its Friday, March 7, Winter Carnival.
The fundraiser, sponsored by the Chrysler Corporation, awards the school hosting the event $10 for each test drive taken. In 2013, Westwoods Elementary School was awarded a $5,000 bonus from Chrysler for being among the top five schools in the country that hosted a “Drive for the Kids” event. Cherry Knoll hopes to beat Westwoods to earn the bonus.
The fund-raiser will be held from 4:30-8 p.m. at the school, 1800 Three Mile Road. It is open to all licensed drivers 18 years old or older.
Red Sky Stage debut
PETOSKEY — The Red Sky Stage, a coffee house-style performing arts venue, will host the Blissfest Folk & Roots Winter Mini Concert Series.
Dwain Martin and 45 North will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, March 7, at the venue, 445 E. Mitchell St. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12.50 at the door, $8 for students and $5 for children ages 12 and younger. Tickets also include admission to the Back Porch Music Event at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at the Charlevoix Senior Center building in Charlevoix. Individuals just need to show their tickets. Clean Up and Green Up
TRAVERSE CITY — Michigan Green Consortium will sponsor its 10th annual Clean Up and Green Up event.
The free, community-wide event will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. the morning following the time change, Sunday, March 9, on the grounds at American Waste, 280 Hughes Dr. It is designed for area residents to dispose of items that have salvageable components and materials or items that can be repurposed or reused.
