Documentary screening

TRAVERSE CITY — Shoreline Center for Healing will screen the documentary “Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead” on Thursday, Feb. 27.

The film will be shown at 6 p.m. at the Shoreline office, 402 S. Union St. A juicing demonstration follows. There is no charge, but reservations are requested; call 946-HEAL.

Climate Lobby meets

TRAVERSE CITY — The next meeting of the Northern Michigan Chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby will be held Saturday, March 1.

The nonprofit, non-partisan group will meet at 12:30 p.m. at the Michigan Land Use Institute, 148 E. Front St., suite 301. Eli Lehrer of the R Street Institute will discuss the no-nonsense view of climate change held by the insurance and re-insurance industry by conference call.

‘Talk About Art’

GLEN ARBOR — A “Talk About Art” interview with contemporary folk artist Jesse Hickman, originally scheduled for last week, has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 27, because of bad weather.

The program starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Glen Arbor Art Association, 6031 S. Lake St. Admission is free and the public is welcome. Call 334-6112 to learn more.

TRAVERSE CITY — Grand Traverse Academy will hold enrollment information meetings in March.

The meetings will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 6, and Wednesday, March 19, and at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at the school, 1245 Hammond Road. Open enrollment continues through Friday, March 21.

Children’s Garden seeks volunteers

TRAVERSE CITY — Planning sessions start Wednesday, March 5, for the upcoming Children’s Garden Summer Program.

Gardeners interested in volunteering to teach for an hour or help maintain the gardens are invited to meet current volunteers at 7 p.m. at the Traverse Area District Library, 610 Woodmere Ave. Call 929-0916 to learn more.
