WNMC airs jazz

TRAVERSE CITY — WNMC Radio 90.7 FM will air Jazz at the Cambria live today, Feb. 13.

Jeff Haas trio bassist Jack Dryden and Randy Marsh on drums and harmonica will be joined by flutist Nancy Stagnitta and flutist and saxophonist Laurie Sears for a program of jazz standards and originals by Haas from 7-9:15 p.m. at Reflect Bistro in the Cambria Suites, 255 Munson Ave. There is no cover charge. Benefit breakfast

TRAVERSE CITY — The St. Patrick Men’s Club will prepare and serve a pancake breakfast to benefit the Lake Ann Lions Club eye and glasses program.

The meal will be served from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at St. Patrick Church, 630 W. Silver Lake Road. The cost is $5.50 for adults, $3.50 for children, free for children 4 and younger or $20 per family. Proceeds will help the Lake Ann Lions Club provide eye exams and/or glasses for those in need who are referred by Love INC. Additional donations are appreciated. For details, call 943-8545.

Scouts host breakfast

TRAVERSE CITY — Boy Scout Troop 36, sponsored by Central United Methodist Church, will host a lumberjack pancake breakfast fundraiser.

The meal will be served from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at the church, 222 Cass St. A free-will offering will be accepted. Proceeds help fund Boy Scout events and activities. For more information about the troop, call Eric Guldner, 883-5006.

Hiking program

TRAVERSE CITY — Mike Viijo spent 76 days walking from the southermost point of Louisiana to the headwaters of the Mississippi River in Minnesota. He will share his experiences with the Grand Traverse Hiking Club at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the Boardman River Nature Center, 1450 Cass Road. The program is free and open to the public.

Volunteer training

SUTTONS BAY — The Inland Seas Education Association will hold an informational open house Wednesday, Feb. 19, for anyone interested in volunteering with the ISEA.
