‘ValenStein’ project

TRAVERSE CITY — Blackbird Arts, 1485 Barlow St., will offer a “ValenSteins” project as something different to do on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14.

Participants will learn how to design, build, decorate and glaze a stein from clay artist Phil Wilson. They also will be able to sample some local beer. Class participants must be at least 21 years old.

Singing Valentines

TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Central High School Choral-Aires will deliver singing Valentines on Friday, Feb. 14, from 8 a.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 15, from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

The Valentines are $50 each and include a live performance of two musical selections, one chocolate truffle, a card with a personalized message and one red rose and vase. Owl Hike

BELLAIRE — Learn about owl calls and habits on a moonlit owl hike Saturday, Feb. 15, at Grass River Natural Area, 6500 Alden Highway.

Eagle release

TRAVERSE CITY — Rebecca Lessard of Wings of Wonder will release a rehabilitated bald eagle on Saturday, Feb. 15.

The release is planned for 11 a.m. at Sportsman’s Park. Parking will be available downtown and at Harvest Barn Church, 210 S. Lake St. A shuttle will run from the church to the park starting at 10 a.m. The park will be reserved for handicapped parking.
