---- — n Four area Hope College students are studying off-campus during the 2012 fall semester. Senior Laura Clement is studying in London, United Kingdom, through a CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) program. She is the daughter of Timothy and Maureen Clement and a graduate of Traverse City West Senior High School. Senior Jennifer Matson is studying in Managua, Nicaragua, also through a CIEE program. She is the daughter of Murray Matson and a graduate of Traverse City Central High School. Senior Rachel Tomlin is studying in London, United Kingdom, through IES Abroad. She is the daughter of Jenny MacDowell and a graduate of Traverse City Central High School. Junior Meredith Aja is studying in The Philadelphia Center in Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Thomas and Judy Aja and a graduate of Traverse City Central High School.

n The University of Michigan's Class of 1931 Engineering Scholarship Program recently named Patrick James Wilson, of Traverse City, one of the winners of their '31E Scholarships for the academic year 2012-2013. Winners are chosen based on academic achievement, community service and as the most likely to bring honor, not only to themselves, but also to the 1931 Engineering Class and the University of Michigan.
