Students of the Month: 11/03/2009

The following have been named Students of the Month by the Kiwanis Club of Traverse City.

-- Shanley Harrigan, a senior at Grand Traverse Academy, is the daughter of Tammy and Daniel Harrigan. She has attended GTA since third grade, when it first opened, and also attends the TBA-ISD Career-Tech Center's Allied Health Program with a focus on nursing. She also volunteers at Munson Medical Center. Shanley serves as the vice president of the National Technical Honor Society and as secretary of the GTA National Honor Society. She spends her free time with family and volunteer services. Shanley's goal is to attend Ferris State University's nursing program.

-- Audrey Wyman, a senior at Traverse City Central High School, is the daughter of Richard and Laura Wyman. Audrey is a member of National Honor Society and SCI-MA-TECH. She has participated in varsity tennis; musicals including "High School Musical," "South Pacific" and "Pirates of Penzance"; the Choral-Aires and Chorale; the varsity debate team; and Rendezvous the Jazz Club. She enjoys guitar, reading and snowboarding, and hopes to attend a small liberal arts college where she can study biology/medicine and continue music and tennis.
