FINAL: Marquette 31, TC Central 23

MARQUETTE — Traverse City Central's comeback bid fell just short in the Trojans' season opener Friday night. Central fell to the Marquette Redmen, 31-23.

Central's Jake Gorter kicked a 40-yard field goal in the third quarter, while the Trojans had sixty yards of offense in that same period.

Traverse City (0-1) hosts Escanaba in Week 2 for their first home game of the season.
