Football Roundup: Rough night for most area teams

No. 3 Cadillac was the only area team to win a district football title tonight, as the Vikings defeated Ogemaw Heights 35-27 in a Division 4 tournament game. Cadillac advances to play at No. 5 Comstock Park next week with a regional championship on the line.

In Division 6, Glen Lake and Boyne City both fell at the hands of ranked opponents — No. 1 Ithaca defeated the Lakers 42-7 and No. 7 Negaunee downed Boyne City 42-19. Ithaca extended its winning streak to 53 games; the Yellowjackets haven't lost since Nov. 20, 2009.

In Division 8, Johannesburg-Lewiston fell to No. 10 St. Ignace, 20-14.
