Luther service

TRAVERSE CITY — A celebration of the Eucharist as designed by Martin Luther in the 1500s will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 341 Washington Church.

The Rev. Katheryn King will lead the 5 p.m. worship on Saturday, April 27. A selection of German foods will be served after the service. For details, call 947-2330.

Pet adopt-a-thon

TRAVERSE CITY — AC Paw will hold two weekend pet adopt-a-thons at Petsmart.

Adopt-a-thon hours are 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, April 26, and Friday, May 3; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays, April 27 and May 4; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays, April 29 and May 5. Brownie Troop #3781 will hold a cookie sale on Saturday, April 27, to raise money to help animals in need.

Sunday jazz

TRAVERSE CITY — The Sunday Jazz Session at Chateau Chantal on Sunday, April 28, will feature the Jeff Haas Trio with bassist Jack Dryden and drummer Keith Hall.

The trio will perform from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the winery, 15900 Rue de Vin. There is no cover charge. For details, call 223-4110 or email wine@chateauchantal.com.

Car show today

TRAVERSE CITY — Anyone with a classic car, a muscle car or an interesting car may bring it to Don’s Drive In today, April 26.

A car show from 5 to 7 p.m. at 2030 N. U.S. 31 South, will be followed by the first cruise of the season at 7 p.m. The public is welcome.

Meet Doulas

TRAVERSE CITY — Area doulas (birthing coaches) are hosting a “Meet The Doula Night.”

The free event from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 29, will be held at Green Island, 120 E. Front St. Women who are pregnant or planning a pregnancy can meet with doulas and learn how a birthing coach can be beneficial during and after child birth. For details, email serenityacupuncture@gmail.com.

TRAVERSE CITY — The Community Cinema Series continues Thursday, May 2, with the documentary “Revolutionary Optimists.”
