---- — Five golfers earn All-State

TRAVERSE CITY — Five local high school golfers were rewarded with first-team All-State honors by the Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association.

Traverse City Central’s Winton Munch and Traverse City West’s Cameron Murray were picked in Division 1 while Manistee Catholic’s Zack Bialik, Suttons Bay’s Sean Lammy and Leland’s Joel Sneed were selected in Division 4. All are seniors except Sneed, who is a sophomore.

Five more golfers received honorable mention: Gaylord’s Cam Laug in Division 2; Suttons Bay’s Devin Capron and Brent Duddles, St. Francis’ Parker Guss and Glen Lake’s Mike O’Brien in Division 4.

 

Wings development camp July 10-15

TRAVERSE CITY — The Detroit Red Wings will hold their annual prospects development camp July 10-15 at Centre Ice.

Fans wishing to attend camp can watch the first day on Wednesday, July 10, free of charge with tickets for the remainder of camp available for $5 per day. Tickets will be sold exclusively at Centre Ice.

The development camp roster currently features 21 players. Select prospects will be added to the camp following Sunday’s NHL draft in New Jersey. Those set to participate in this year’s camp include Ontario Hockey League defenseman of the year Ryan Sproul, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League first-team All-Star defenseman Xavier Ouellet, Western Collegiate Hockey Association defenseman of the year Nick Jensen, Memorial Cup champion forward Martin Frk of the Halifax Mooseheads, and Calder Cup champion forward Luke Glendening of the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Darren Helm, who missed almost all of this past season with a back injury, is also expected to participate.

Horse show live and on-demand

TRAVERSE CITY — Starting July 3, viewers will have the opportunity to watch the top riders and horses compete at Horse Shows by the Bay live and on-demand, thanks to a partnership between ShowNet LLC, HRTV, The Network for Horse Sports, and Alltech Equine TV.

Action from the Horse Shows by the Bay Grand Prix Ring will be produced and delivered to viewers via the ShowNet cameras and shown on HRTV and Alltech Equine TV.

The broadcasts on HRTV and Alltech Equine TV are free to viewers through these platforms, and links will also be available on the Horse Shows by the Bay website (www.horseshowsbythebay.com) as well as the ShowNet website (http://www.shownet.biz). ShowNet will also be offering live results and individual video clips of the three main show rings during the show per regular ShowNet service.
