Antrim offices close in honor of Koop

BELLAIRE — Antrim County government offices will be closed for former Prosecutor Charles Koop’s funeral today.

The closure from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. is to allow county employees to pay their respects to Koop, 63, who died unexpectedly Tuesday in his Williamsburg home. He served 23 years as Antrim County prosecutor.

The public funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at New Hope Community Church in Williamsburg.

The closure will not include Antrim County Transportation, Antrim County Airport, Barnes Park, the commission on aging or the sheriff’s department.
