New festival debuts
TRAVERSE CITY — The Filling Station Microbrewery and Porterhouse Productions sponsors a new family-friendly festival today through Sunday at the Filling Station at the Railroad Depot at Woodmere and East Eighth Street.
“The Ales by the Rails Summer Music Festival” opens with Blake Elliot at 6 p.m. today, followed by Seth Bernard and May Erlewine and headliner Greg Brown. The doors open at 5 p.m. The official launch party for the new TC Ale Trail precedes the entertainment at 4 p.m.
On Saturday, DJ Dominate will spin music for a silent disco from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., and on Sunday, Mike Moran takes the stage at 6 p.m., followed by headliner Luke Winslow-King.
The weekend also includes a kids’ fun zone, scrap art, train memorabilia, Shetler Dairy ice cream, Northwoods root beer floats, 14 craft brews, Northwoods sodas, and pizza.
