Book launch

BEULAH — Crystal Crate & Cargo will host a book launch for Robet Wangard’s newly published novel, “Deceit,” the third book in the Pete Thorsen mystery series.

At the Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Theater will host an evening of bluegrass with the RFD Boys on Sunday, July 7, while Canadian singer/songwriter Lynn Miles takes the stage Thursday, July 11.

Awesome Distraction will open the show for the RFD Boys at 7 p.m. The RFD Boys have been performing together since 1969 and have shared the stage with a who’s who of bluegrass and country music.

Miles will be joined by fellow Canadian, guitarist Keith Glass, for a concert at 7:30 p.m. July 11. She is touring in support of her latest album “Downpour.”

The theater is located at 4240 M-72 East. Tickets for each concert are $20 in advance; $25 at the door. Advance tickets are available in Traverse City at Brilliant Books and Oryana Natural Foods Market, and in Acme at Ace Hardware and the Stained Glass Cabinet Co. Concert series

LELAND — Gael Eschelweck will open the “Of Note” free summer music series sponsored by Leland United Methodist Church.

Eschelweck will perform “Classical and Spanish Guitar, Plus a Little Ukulele” at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 7. The series continues at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 14, with “Standard Jazz Favorites” by the Mike David Quartet.

All concerts will be held at the church, 106 N. 4th St. The public is invited and reservations are not required. A reception follows each performance. The eight-concert series continues on Sundays through Aug. 25.

KINGSLEY — Early registration closes Wednesday, July 10, for the Kingsley Heritage Days 5K and Mile Fun Run/Walk.
