Festival of Trees

The Benzie Area Historical Museum hosts the Festival of Trees to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Benzie County today and Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Steve Elrick will read Truman Capote's "A Christmas Memory" on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. There's no admission, though cash donations are welcome in a box by the door.

True pigs story

Find out the real story behind the three little pigs when the Traverse City Opera House presents the puppet production, "The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by A. Wolf," on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $8. Visit www.CityOperaHouse.org.

Last call at OTP

The final two performances of "Man of La Mancha" are today and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Old Town Playhouse in Traverse City. Tickets are $25 adult, $23 for seniors and students and $14 for 12 and younger.

Tree lighting and caroling is at 7 p.m., followed by a preview of the Marketplace showcasing local artists and merchants on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The 5th annual Artisan Market Place is Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. at the Empire Township Hall, to be followed by the village tree lighting at dark.
