Old Engine Club swap meet

BUCKLEY — The Buckley Old Engine Club spring swap meet will be held today and Saturday, May 16-17, at the Old Engine Show Grounds, one mile west of Buckley.

There is no gate fee and no advance reservations are needed. Antique and collectible dealers are welcome. Visitors can buy, sell, trade or just look. For details, call Jim Luper, 570-2506 or visit www.buckleyoldengineshow.org.

‘Voices from the Horn’

ACME — The Music House Museum will bring its collection of phonographs out for a demonstration and a talk by historian James Warner.

Jazz Cafe

SUTTONS BAY — Black Star Farms will host a “Jazz Cafe” on the third Wednesday of each month beginning Wednesday, May 21.

The event from 7-9 p.m. features music by local duo Mike Davis and Steve Stargardt. There is no cover charge. Wine may be purchased for $5 and up a glass and small plates will be available at prices ranging from $6-$12.

Film on U.S. economy

FRANKFORT — The Benzie Democratic Committee will sponsor a screening of “Inequality for All” on Wednesday, May 21. The focus of the film is the decline of economic opportunities for the majority of Americans.

The Robert Reich film is based on the book of the same title. It documents how the gap between the very rich and everyone else has widened since the mid-1970s. It will be shown at 7 p.m. following a 6:30 p.m. reception at the Garden Theater. Donations are requested at the door.

Guided walks

TRAVERSE CITY — Free guided, community walks will be held on Thursdays in May and June.
