Tai chi

TRAVERSE CITY — White Crane Tai Chi Association is meeting for sun-style tai chi practice at 11:30 a.m. Thursdays through Aug. 22, weather permitting, at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center’s Titus Street entrance. The public is welcome. For details, call 944-5430.

Gallery celebration

BEULAH — Live for Art Gallery, 272 S. Benzie Blvd., will host a summer celebration from 5 to 7 p.m. today, June 21. Visitors are invited to view landscapes inspired by northern Michigan and enjoy a glass of wine.

Model air show

EMPIRE — The Traverse Area Model Pilot Society (TRAMPS) will host its 37th annual air show Saturday and Sunday, June 22-23.

Flying will be from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at the Empire Airport. The show features giant scale World War II bombers and fighters, helicopters, aerobatic displays and jets capable of speeds in excess of 200 miles per hour.

BENZONIA — The Benzie Amateur Radio Friends will demonstrate amateur radio from 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22, to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at Benzonia Park, as part of the week-long Amateur Radio Week. For details, contact Mike Flynn, or 882-7936.

Symphony love songs

BENZONIA — The first concert of the 2013 Benzie Area Symphony Orchestra is titled “BASO ... In Love.”

Conductor John W. Beery has selected familiar love songs from Broadway musicals for the 7 p.m. concert on Sunday, June 23, at the Benzie Central High School auditorium, Homestead Road.
