BELLAIRE — The Grass River Natural Area will host an oyster mushroom hunt beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Class will begin with an ID skills brush-up. Register in advance at www.grassriver.org or by calling 533-8314. Class fee is $5.

FRANKFORT — The Frankfort Craft Fair and the Antique Vehicle & Muscle Car Show will both be held Saturday.
The craft fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Market Square Park, with more than 85 booths. The Antique Vehicle and Muscle Car show will be held at Mineral Springs Park. Registration starts at 8 a.m.

Bake sale fundraiser
TRAVERSE CITY — A “24 Hours of Bake Sale” to benefit the 2014 Polar Plunge will be hed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Traverse City Wal-Mart. The annual plunge raises money for Special Olympics Michigan.
TRAVERSE CITY — The Cherry Bombs will take on the Mix-Up Misfits and the Toxic Cherries will defend their winning home season against the Killamazoo Killa Crew at 6 p.m. Saturday at Howe Arena inside the Grand Traverse County Civic Center.

TRAVERSE CITY — An opening reception for the National Geographic Society Museum’s traveling exhibition “Birds of Paradise: Amazing Avian Evolution” will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at The Dennos Museum Center.
Speakers include Kathryn Keane, VP of Exhibitions at National Geographic Museum, and Edwin Scholes, ornithologist at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

MESICK — Mesick Historical Museum will have Cemetery books available for individuals to look up information on where and when family members were buried in Mesick area cemeteries.
The books are on loan to the museum from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday only.
There will be information from Harrietta, Boon, Antioch, Mesick, Colfax, Cornell, and Wexford County Index plus obituary listings for many years.

TRAVERSE CITY — Area children are invited to a birthday party for Ollie the Otter from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Boardman River Nature Center, 1450 Cass Road.
