GRAYLING — A Detroit man faces accusations he hatched a plan from his jail cell to have a Traverse Narcotics Team informant killed.
Christopher Dwayne Norfleet, 36, appeared in Crawford County's 87th District for arraignment on a solicitation of murder charge.
Authorities said Traverse Narcotics Team officers learned in March that Norfleet had a plan to kill a TNT informant who helped put him in Crawford County's jail. State police detectives investigated the accusations and passed their findings to Crawford County prosecutors, who authorized a solicitation of murder charge this week.
Traverse Narcotics Team officers cover Grand Traverse, Antrim, Benzie, Leelanau, Missaukee, Osceola, and Wexford Counties. Detectives received assistance from other state drug teams.
TNT and state police investigators didn't return calls for comment.
