TRAVERSE CITY — Berocratic Productions’ stage show, “How Grinchy Met the Who,” a mash-up, rock ‘n’ roll musical Christmas parody, continues at InsideOut Gallery, 229 Garland St.

The play takes a satirical look at the Christmas narrative of the Grinch through the lens of the Who’s rock opera “Tommy.”

It will be staged at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday. General admission tickets are $15 in advance; $18 at the door. VIP tickets are $20 in advance; $25 at the door. Advance tickets are available at

Library cookie sale

KALKASKA — The Friends of the Kalkaska County Library will hold a two-day Christmas Cookie Sale.

Sale hours are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. today, and 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, at the library, 247 S. Cedar. Cookies are $4 a dozen.

Mosaic Gallery open

TRAVERSE CITY — A Christmas open house will be hosted from 2-7 p.m. Saturday, at the Glass Mosaic Gallery, 610 Pine St.

It will feature glass mosaic artist Brian Strickland and guest artist Karen Denolf. The public is welcome; 941-5037.

Holiday arts fair

BENZONIA — A Holiday Art and Craft Fair on Saturday, will include a quilt raffle. The event will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Mills Community House, 891 Michigan Ave. Admission is free. Quilt raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20.

Music ‘On the Porch’

TRAVERSE CITY — Robin Lee Berry and Glenn Wolff are the next performers in Sleder’s Family Tavern’s “On the Porch” concert series.

The duo will perform at 4 p.m. Sunday, at the tavern, 717 Randolph St. Advance tickets are $15 at Sleder’s, Oryana Natural Foods Market, Brilliant Books and Zamar Guitar.

Holiday Festival

TRAVERSE CITY — St. Francis Parish will host its Christmas Festival on Sunday.

The festival will be held from 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in the St. Francis High School gym on East 11th Street.

There will be a chicken dinner, a Christmas cookie sale, a $10,000 grand prize raffle and more.

The meal is $8 for adults, $6 for children and $30 per family.

Art lecture

TRAVERSE CITY — Mary McNichols, a juror for the “Art of the Sleeping Bear Dunes” exhibit on display at the Dennos Museum Center, will give an illustrated lecture on Sunday.

The lecture starts at 1:30 p.m. at the museum, 1410 College Dr. McNichols will discuss the exhibit’s various artistic themes of nature and place the artists in the exhibit within the larger context of diverse approaches to landscape painting. The lecture is open to museum visitors with paid admission; free for museum members and NMC students with ID. Call 995-1055.

IAA musical

INTERLOCHEN — The Interlochen Arts Academy musical theater students will stage the Tony Award-winning musical “Spring Awakening.”

‘Small World’ sale

TRAVERSE CITY — The 19th annual “Small World” show and sale of miniature watercolor paintings by local artist Charles R. Murphy will take place Saturday, Dec. 7.

Madrigal dinner

TRAVERSE CITY — Tickets for Traverse City West Senior High School’s 17th annual Madrigal Feast are now on sale. Performances will be held at 6 p.m., Dec. 13, 14 and 15 in the school’s banquet hall.

A reenactment of a 15th-century royal feast, the entertainment includes renaissance period dress, ensemble performances, a multi-course meal, and merriment on a grand scale.
