Prep Football Previews: Week 6

TC Central at Petoskey

RECORDS: Central (3-2, 1-0 BNC); Petoskey (2-3, 0-2 BNC)

WHEN: 7 p.m. tonight

RADIO: AM-580 (TC); AM-1340 (Pet.)

Two teams, opposite directions recently. TC Central has won two straight, while Petoskey has lost three in a row. The Northmen return home after taking three losses on the road and are 2-0 at Curtis Field this season. The Trojans close out the regular season with four straight Big North Conference games, and are still in contention at 1-1 if they can win out.

TC West at Comstock Park

RECORDS: TC West (4-1, 2-0 BNC), Comstock Park (5-0, 2-0 OK-Blue)

WHEN: 7 p.m. tonight

Division 4 No. 6-ranked Comstock Park will provide yet another tough test on TC West’s brutal schedule. The Panthers have had only one close game this season, topping Allendale 27-25. That is Allendale’s only loss of the season, and West hosts the Falcons in the regular season’s final week. The Titans, meanwhile, have won four straight, despite a rash of injuries. West could get several offensive linemen back this week, including Jake Cerny, but will be without its best blocker in Connor Hayes (torn meniscus) the rest of the year and massive left tackle Thiyo Lukusa for several weeks.

Elk Rapids at Grayling

RECORDS: Elk Rapids (4-1, 2-0 LMC); Grayling (4-1, 2-0 LMC)

WHEN: 7 p.m. tonight

RADIO: FM-101.1/AM-1230 (Gry.)

Both of these teams have been rolling and piling up points. And the only blemish on each’s record is a setback to Traverse City St. Francis. Elk Rapids averages 32.6 points a game and Grayling puts up 33.2 a contest. Neither is a slouch on defense, either, as the Elks have surrendered just 9.8 points a game and the Vikings 17.4. Elk Rapids and Grayling join Boyne City as the only teams left without an LMC loss.

McBain at Lake City

RECORDS: Lake City (5-0, 2-0 HC); McBain (4-1, 2-0 HC)

WHEN: 7 p.m. tonight
