Holiday events across northern Michigan

Holiday Art Bazaar

Petoskey — Crooked Tree Arts Center’s Holiday Arts Bazaar will continue through Dec. 19.

The arts center is at 461 N. Mitchell St. The bazaar is open during regular business hours and special events; or 347-4337.

Toy drive

Chum’s Corner — Menards home improvement store is serving as a toy drive drop-off site. New, unwrapped toys may be dropped off through mid-December at the store, 4155 U.S. 31 South.

The gift of art

East Jordan — The Jordan River Arts Council’s 12th Members Holiday Art for Sale continues through Friday, Dec. 21, from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, at the arts center, 301 Main St. For details, contact Babs Young, 645-2220 or; or the Art Center, 536-3385.

Open house

Traverse City — Cog’s Creek Gallery will hold an open house Friday, Nov. 30, and also is hosting a Holiday Gift Show through Christmas. Open house hours are 5-8 p.m. at the gallery, 124 N. Maple St. The gift show features handcrafted local art; 620-0458.

Visit Bethlehem

Traverse City — The congregation at First Christian Church, 3686 S. Airport Road West, will take visitors back in time for a “Taste of Bethlehem” from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, and 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1.

Holiday concerts

Traverse City — Northwestern Michigan College’s Community Band, Jazz Ensembles and Children’s Choir have scheduled performances.

The NMC Community Band will perform at 8 p.m. concert Friday, Nov. 30, in Milliken Auditorium. The NMC Children’s Choir concert is at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 720 Second St. Also on Saturday, Dec. 1, the NMC Jazz Big Band, Jazz Lab Band and Jazz Vocal Ensemble will perform at 8 p.m. in Milliken Auditorium. Tickets for each concert are available at the door and cost $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, free for NMC students.
