Hounds deal goalie Hunter Myers to Berkley

TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Hounds have traded goaltender Hunter Myers to the Berkley Bruins.

Myers was 1-0 in two appearance with a 1.20 goals-against average and .939 save percentage.

The move came after the Hounds’ newest goaltender, Bryce Goulah, made an impressive Saturday debut with an 18-save shutout of the Michigan Ice Dogs.

Goulah signed a tender with the Traverse City Cohos in 2012 before that team went dark. He signed with the Hounds in 2013, but didn’t report and was traded in September to the Ice Dogs for future considerations. He ended up not playing for the Ice Dogs and went to a junior team in Canada instead.

He’ll have his hands full in trying to get the top goalie spot from David Krejcik, who was been the league’s Goalie of the Month for three straight months and is 16-3-1-2 with a 1.71 goals-against and .941 save percentage.

Before today’s varsity boys basketball game against Gaylord, the Titans will present a check to Cancer Travels, a local charity the event helped raise money for.

Businesses and players who participated in the 24-hour game will be admitted for free if they wear T-shirts from the original event.
