Indoor folk fest

TRAVERSE CITY — The sixth annual Great Indoor Folk Festival will bring up to 100 acoustic musicians to the Village at Grand Traverse Commons from noon-5:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Mercato level of Building 50 will feature a Solo Stage, two Duo Stages, a Kids’ Stage, and a stage to showcase new talent. A satellite venue will be set up at Left Food Charley Winery, with an open mic at Another Cuppa Joe. Many of the performers will have CDs for sale. Admission is free.

Festival of Foods

TRAVERSE CITY — Northwestern Michigan College’s annual Festival of Foods will be hosted Saturday.

The culinary event from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on NMC’s campus offers demonstrations by area chefs, NMC culinary instructors and local gourmet food artisans. Participants can choose four one-hour sessions from 16 options. The $69 fee includes demonstrations and food samples.

Beulah WinterFest

BEULAH — WinterFest on Saturday, will feature a variety of activities for all ages.

Activities open with a 5 a.m. fishing tournament and close with fireworks over Crystal Lake at 7:15 p.m. Highlights include a chili cook-off, outhouse races and a parade at 3:30 p.m. For a complete schedule, visit www.clcba.org.

Quilt show opens

TRAVERSE CITY — A reception today, will open an Invitational Art and Traditional Quilt Works show.

More than 40 works by 15 fiber and textile artists will be on display through March 4 in the Mercato at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons near Notably Natural, suite 25. The show includes art quilts for wall display and traditional quilts for display as wall art or on a bed.
