ALPENA — Tyler Pintar scored 18 points and Andy Marwede 15 Thursday night as Alpena pulled away to a 59-44 Big North Conference basketball win over Traverse City Central.
Central (2-9, 2-4) led 16-14 after the first quarter, but then fell behind 32-25 at half.
Max Knoblock paced the Trojans with 14 points.
Alpena won the JV game 51-44. Devante Walker netted 19 points and James Brumfield 11 for Central.
The freshmen won 52-30 as Nik Norton scored 16, Fitz Doud 11 and Zach Hankins 10.
Central hosts Petoskey tonight.

Boyne City JV 35
Gabe Callery scored 15 points as the St. Francis JV downed Boyne City 51-35.
The Gladiators (7-2) travel to Suttons Bay on Saturday.
TC Bulldogs 44

The Traverse City Bulldogs jumped out to a 28-4 lead en route to a 44-37 victory over Suttons Bay.
Molly Plamondon led the Bulldogs (8-4) with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Jane Hursey and Delaney Kaufman scored seven points apiece for the Norse (5-8), who host Benzie on Tuesday. Waskane Stonefish contributed six points, five assists and three steals.
Lake Leelanau SM 41
Abby Thon scored 11 points and Hannah Weber 10 as Lake Leelanau St. Mary defeated Leland 41-33 in a non-league game.
Weber also had 10 rebounds as part of her double-double. Thon had seven rebounds. Mary Rexroat contributed nine points for the Eagles (6-6), who travel to Elk Rapids on Monday.
Libby Munoz led Leland (6-5) with 26 points. The Comets were up 20-19 at the break. Madison Trumbull pulled down 11 rebounds for Leland, which travels to Benzie on Monday.
Gaylord SM 43
Kari Borowiak’s 22 points powered Gaylord St Mary to a 43-31 Ski Valley win over Onaway.
Bekah Myler added 15 for the Snowbirds (12-1, 9-0), who hosts Forest Area on Monday.
Erika Price had 19 for Onaway.
Central Lake 26
Leighten Koepke scored 17 points and Madalyn Balon 14 as Bellaire defeated Central Lake 41-26 in a Ski Valley contest.
Koepke also finished with four assists while Balon had six steals and five rebounds. Gillian Nevarez pulled down nine rebounds for the Eagles (10-2, 8-1), who take on Hillman tonight.
