Prep Sports Roundup: Glen Lake beats Manistee in 2OT

Sophomore Jared Ritter scored the game-tying basket in the final seconds of regulation, then added another last-gasp shot in the first overtime and Glen Lake went on to beat Manistee 56-52 in a double overtime thriller on Thursday.

Ritter, a sophomore, scored both buckets on turnaround jumpers, the first with four seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and the second with three seconds to go in overtime to keep Glen Lake’s hopes alive before the Lakers squeaked out the hard-fought game in the second extra session. Ritter finished with 19 points for the Lakers (3-2). Matt Ewing added 13 points for Glen Lake.

Free throw shooting could have allowed Glen Lake to avoid having to play the overtimes altogether. The Lakers converted on 11 of 35 tries from the stripe.

Manistee’s Alex Bialik led all scorers with 24 points.
