Teens allegedly stole purse from church lot

FROM STAFF REPORTS

TRAVERSE CITY -- Police identified two teens who allegedly stole a purse from a church parking lot.

Both suspects confessed they stole a purse Tuesday morning from a vehicle parked outside Faith Reformed Church, 1139 Front St., police said. The purse contained cash and personal items.

Warrants for their arrest are forthcoming, said Traverse City Police Capt. Steve Morgan.

"We don't feel as though they're a flight risk," Morgan said.

The male suspects, a 17-year-old from Traverse City and a 16-year-old from Grawn, are students at the Traverse Bay Area Career-Tech Center.
