Hunt for mushrooms

BELLAIRE — Fall mushrooms that can be used to make natural dyes will be highlighted in the last in a series of mushroom hunts at the Grass River Natural Area.

The class begins with an ID skills brush up at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the natural area, 6500 Alden Highway, followed by a hunt for fall “shrooms.” The fee is $5 and registration is required. For details or to register, call 533-8314 or visit www.grassriver.org.

Harvest dinner

MANCELONA — The community is invited to celebrate autumn at a Harvest Dinner hosted by Mancelona United Methodist Church.

The family-style meal will be served in two seatings at 5 and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 17, at the church, 117 E. Hinman. The cost is $10 for adults, $4 for children 5 and older and free for children 4 and younger. Proceeds benefit the Untied Methodist Women’s projects locally and globally.

Indoor market

TRAVERSE CITY — The indoor farmer’s market at the Village at Bay Ridge will feature fruits, vegetables, baked goods and brown free-range eggs. It will be from 10 a.m.-noon on Sept. 19, in the East Building, 3850 Scenic Ridge. For details, call 932-9455.
