Romance of the grape
TRAVERSE CITY — William Storer, author of “Up North Michigan, Wines by the Bay” will explore the “romance of the grape” at a LIFE Lunch presentation on Friday at the NMC University Center on Cass Road.

SUTTONS BAY — The Hillside Homestead will host a Farmhouse Frolic from noon to 5 p.m., Sunday at the farm located at 3400 N. Setterbo Road.
The event is free and family friendly. Activities include historic cooking demos and tastings in the kitchen, tours of the farmhouse and grounds, waxing eggs for winter storage and a discussion on historic methods of preserving eggs.
Grow Benzieopen house
BENZONIA — Grow Benzie will celebrate their incubator kitchen’s first anniversary with an open house beginning at 6 p.m. Monday. Grow Benzie welcomes everyone to attend and learn more about the kitchen, programs and the businesses that have been created/expanded this past year.
The program currently has eight businesses that are licensed through the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to operate.

TRAVERSE CITY — The Old Mission Peninsula United Methodist Church will hold their annual Chicken BBQ from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., on June 28. The menu will include grilled chicken, potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, homemade desserts, Annie’s cherry whatchamacallit and lemonade and coffee.

KALEVA — Kaleva Meats will host a Relay for Life Bake Sale, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 28, sponsored by Kaleva Crusaders and Friends Relay for Life Team. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
