Winter celebration of local foods

Winter celebration of local foods

THOMPSONVILLE — The second annual Taste the Local Difference Winter Celebration, hosted by Crystal Mountain and The Michigan Land Use Institute, is Saturday, March 16.

The event will feature local foods from more than two dozen northern Michigan farmers and producers. Chefs will be on hand to prepare dishes with local ingredients and to offer suggestions on how to use more local foods year round

Skiers and snowboarders will receive $10 off their lift pass with a Winter Celebration ticket. A variety of food trucks will be parked at the base of the slopes so skiers and boarders can enjoy local foods without loosening their boots.

The Winter Celebration begins at 4 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m. on the top level of the Crystal Center. Tickets are $20, available online at mlui.org/wintercelebration or at the door.
